There’s a clown face emoji (because everyone loves clowns). The wolf face has been redesigned to actually look more like a wolf face. Apple’s new emojis line will be available on Apple devices including iPhone, Apple Watch (watchOS 3.11), and Mac (macOS Sierra 10.12.2). iOS 10.2 embraces the Unicode 9 standard and adds over 70 new emojis while redesigning and updating a lot of old ones. It is redesigned to all more texture, shadow and detail so they feel real.

Taking into account non-RGI emoji sequences, there there are 669 new emojis in this release. The timing is right if Apple wanted to include these 72 new characters in developer previews of iOS 10.0. Jokes aside, there's actually 72 new emoji in total, so it's a pretty significant update. Released on 26 April 2021, this was the first version of iOS to support the 217 new emojis in Emoji 13.1. This month we will see Unicode 9.0 being released on June 21.
